Abstract
A method and a device for casing a book block in a book cover, in which the book block is supplied to a casing-in machine in a first feed direction, taken over by the casing-in machine from a saddle plate of an endless conveyor, and glued as it is transported on the saddle plate. The book covers are supplied in a second feed direction. The book block is supplied to the casing-in machine in a feed direction different from the second feed direction of the book cover. In a first step, the book block is handed over from a first feeder to a transfer device located in a first, upstream position, is transported in a second step from the first position to a second, downstream position of the transfer device, and, in a third step, is picked up by the saddle plate from the second position of the transfer device.
