Abstract
A shoring post having first and second post parts that cooperatively define a variable effective length, a quick release assembly, and a movable pin that in an operative position limits movement of the first post part in one lengthwise direction relative to the second post part. The quick release assembly has: a) at least a first surface against which the pin bears with the pin and quick release assembly in a first operative relationship; and b) at least a second surface against which the pin bears with the pin and quick release assembly in a second operative relationship. The shoring post further has at least one repositionable member that is changeable selectively between: a) a locked state to prevent the pin and quick release assembly from changing from the first operative relationship into the second operative relationship; and b) a released state.
