A capacitive probe comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode. A cap is positioned on a first end of the first electrode and a first end of the second electrode. A base is positioned on a second end of the first electrode, a second end of the second electrode, and a second end of the third electrode. A support is positioned on a first end of the third electrode and in contact with a surface of the second electrode. The electrodes can be coaxial cylinders or parallel plates. The gauge can be used with a system for measuring a quantity and quality of a liquid, more specifically, of an aqueous urea solution in the tank of an SCR system.
