A folding device including a folding member, and at least one first belt adapted to act in a forwarding plane on a product to be folded in order to position it opposite the folding member, the device including a movement device for moving the or each first belt relative to the forwarding plane between a first position, in which the first belt exerts a first pressure on the product to be folded, and a second position, in which the first belt exerts a second pressure on the product to be folded that is lower than the first pressure.The movement device is adapted to make the belt alternate between the first and second positions.
