Abstract
The invention relates to a device for removing individual ribs from a piece of slaughter animal whose spinal column was cut off. A conveying device aligns the piece on a cutting surface on which the spinal column was cut off and conveys the piece. A rib sensor (1) detects the position if the ribs near the cutting surface. A rib cutting element (8) is advanced to the rib by means of a drive and is displaced along the rib. A control controls the drive of the rib cutting element (8) in accordance with the position detected by the rib sensor (1).
