Abstract
The invention consists in the use, in a method to manufacture a mineral matter, notably a precipitated calcium carbonate, of a polymer consisting of at least one vinylic monomer chosen from among acrylic or methacrylic acid, acrylamide, methacrylamide or a cationic monomer, or their blends, and at least one non-ionic monomer. The use of this polymer enables the carbonation time of the PCC to be reduced, without however impairing its crystallographic structure and its granulometric characteristics.
