Abstract

A biosensor for detecting at least one analyte in a gas includes a capture apparatus, a thermoelectrical sensor, and a microprocessor attached to the first ends of a first lead and a second lead, the two leads having second ends attached to the two contact pads of a thermopile whose difference is converted to concentration of the analyte and shown on an electronic display. The thermoelectrical sensor has a layer of at least one interactant, at least one thermopile and an insulator. The interactant with the analyte produces or consumes heat which is transferred to the thermopile which develops a voltage difference that causes the microprocessor to convert the voltage an indication of the analyte.
