Abstract
, according to the known-art protocols EN 12054 (Chemical Disinfectants and antiseptics—Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of antimicrobial activity), EN 1276 (Evaluation of Bactericidal Activity in Suspension—Dilution Neutralisation Method) and EN 1499 (Chemical Disinfectants and Antiseptics—Hygienic Handwash). The compositions may be provided in solid, pasty or in flowable forms, but preferably are readily flowable and largely aqueous and desirably exhibit a pH of 5-5.5. Methods for the manufacture of the topical antimicrobial compositions and methods for their use are also disclosed.
