Abstract
A method according to the invention for controlling a manipulator, in particular a robot (1), includes the following steps: controlling of the manipulator by means of an operating device (4) of a first safety level, which is connected to a control device (2) of the manipulator, and monitoring of a permissible state by means of a protective device (3, 3.1, 3.2) of a second, higher safety level, which is connected to the control device of the manipulator, wherein the manipulator executes an action prescribed by the operating device only as long as the protective device is communicating a permissible state to the control device.
