Abstract
A camera having a lens and a sensor between which one or more transparent plates can selectively be disposed. The plates may have different thickness or indices of refraction, or they may have the same thickness and index of refraction and various combinations of them can be employed. Alternatively, a single plate may be used. The single plate may have one or more regions of different thickness or index of refraction or both. One option may including removing any of the plates from the area between the lens and sensor. With any of these various embodiments, the object distance of best focus is varied when the plate is added or removed or different areas on a plate are used or different combinations of plates are added.
