Interactive visual communication panel (1), such as among others a board that can be written on with felt-tip pens or a chalkboard that can be written on with chalk, characterised in that it is provided with an vitreous enamel layer (5) on the front (3) of the communication panel (1) on which is provided an optically readable position-encoding pattern (6) for creating an electronic representation of the information that is written on the front (3), which position-encoding pattern (6) is built of a ceramic print that has been fired on the layer of enamel (5) at temperatures higher than 500.degree. C.
