Abstract
A securement system secures an endotracheal tube or other medical article in position upon a patient and arrests movement of the endotracheal tube. The securement system includes a retainer having a posterior facing surface, and a channel to secure the endotracheal tube. The securement system can include a member configured for placement in the patient's oral cavity and in fluid communication with an anterior side of the retainer, and a mouth securement member configured to substantially prevent movement of the retainer. Advantageously, the securement system can maintain an endotracheal tube in position upon a patient and allow a liquid to be infused into the patient's oral cavity.
