Abstract
A longitudinal adjustment device of a motor vehicle seat has a left pair of rails (20), a right pair of rails (22) and an electric motor (24). An adjustment gear (32) is associated with each pair of rails (20, 22). The electric motor (24) has an output shaft (36) connected to the two adjustment gears (32). A motor retaining plate (42) is connected to a seat rail (26) of the left pair of rails (20) and to a seat rail (26) of the right pair of rails (22), receives the electric motor (24) and has a longitudinal direction. The motor retaining plate (42) forms a guide for the output shaft (36) of the electric motor (24), extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of the motor retaining plate (42) and is connected to the adjustment gear (32) of the left pair of rails (20) on one side of the electric motor (24) and to the adjustment gear (32) of the right pair of rails (22) on the other side of the electric motor (24).
