Abstract
A lithium secondary battery having high performance even at the time of high-rate charging and discharging, high energy density, high voltage, and a nonaqueous electrolyte excellent in safety. The lithium secondary battery using an ionic liquid, comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte uses an ionic liquid containing bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion as an anionic component, as a solvent, voltage at the time of full charging is 3.6V or higher, and average discharge voltage in a discharge rate of 1-hour rate is 2.9V or higher.
