Abstract
In accordance with the present invention, a method for determining an orientation of a drug vial in an automated drug preparation system that includes a number of stations includes the steps of: (a) identifying the drug vial using identification information that is associated with the drug vial; (b) obtaining a photoimage of identified drug vial; and (c) comparing the photoimage with a reference image that corresponds to the identified drug vial to determine whether the orientation of the drug vial.
