Abstract
The present invention relates to a new optically active rare earth complex (1) represented by a general formula (1); (in the formula, X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an alkoxyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Y.sub.1, Y.sub.2, Y.sub.3, and Y.sub.4, each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, a fluorine-substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group: R.sub.2 is a group selected from the group consisting of (a) cyclopentadienyl groups, (b) phenyl groups, and (c) naphthyl groups).
