Abstract
Fluid regulatory systems may provide diagnostic functions during shut-down procedures. In one aspect, a fluid regulatory system may include a valve positioning system. The valve positioning system may include components such as a controller and an electric-to-pressure converter. The controller may receive a command signal, modify the command signal, adjust a control signal to the electric-to-pressure converter based on the command signal, and/or monitor components while closing the valve. The valve positioning system may have a probability of failure on demand of less than 10.sup.-3.
