Abstract
The invention relates to a catalytically active composition for the selective methanation of carbon monoxide which comprises at least one element selected from the group consisting of ruthenium, rhodium, nickel and cobalt as active component and a support material based on carbon.The invention further provides for the use of this catalytically active composition for the selective methanation of carbon monoxide and in the production of hydrogen for fuel cell applications.
