Abstract
This invention relates to a genus of compounds, represented by the formula (I) diagrammed below, wherein the meanings of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, D and n are indicated therein, which are inhibitors of cathepsin K. These compounds are useful for treating or preventing atherosclerosis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
