A piston pump having a piston slidable within a cylindrical chamber, the piston carrying both a sealing flange to provide a slidable fluid impermeable seal with an inner wall of the chamber and a guide ring slidable in the chamber to assist in maintaining the sealing member coaxially within the chamber during autoclaving.
