Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for automatically locating a pupil. Broadly speaking, an optical beam is scanned across the eye. In any given cycle, the reflected light from the eye is detected by a light sensor and data from the sensor processed to locate some geometric feature of the reflected light, such as the centroid. If the distance between the position of the optical beam and the geometric feature is greater than a threshold value, the system determines that the pupil has been located.
