Abstract
The present invention relates to the discovery of antibodies able to modulate (prevent or favour) conversion of PrP.sup.c to PrP.sup.Sc and to their antigens. Depending on the nature of the antibodies (antagonistic or agonistic), their respective antigens are either conversion factors or inhibitors of prion replication.
