Abstract
A pseudo-sinusoidal signal includes a plurality of sensing areas each of which are capable of delivering a signal S.sub.i representative of the signal to be detected. The sensing areas are arranged such that, for the same detected signal, at least one sensing area delivers a signal S.sub.i of a different amplitude than that of the signal delivered by another sensing area. Bearings may be equipped with such a sensor.
