Abstract
A navigation device includes: a display monitor equipped with a touch panel with a display screen assuming a substantially rectangular shape; a display control unit that displays specific simple information over part of the display screen along a side of the display screen or in a corner of the display screen; and a touch position detection unit that detects a touch in a display area where the simple information is provided and then detects that a touch position of the touch has moved inward from an edge of the display screen. As the touch position detection unit detects that the touch position has moved, the display control unit displays at the display screen detailed information related to the simple information.
