The invention relates to novel methods of regulating metabolism and mitochondrial biogenesis. Some aspects of the invention relate to methods of treating or preventing diseases in a patient associated with reduced mitochondrial function, to methods of identifying agents to treat such diseases, and to methods of diagnosing such diseases.
