Abstract
A tandem axle system having a forward drive axle system connected to a rear drive axle system via a drive shaft. The forward drive axle system uses a hypoid bevel pinion to drive forward half shafts via a forward ring gear. The rear drive axle system uses a spiral bevel pinion to drive rear half shafts via a rear ring gear. A hub reduction system is located at the outboard ends of each half shaft.
