Abstract
Maintenance-friendly, compact valve having a simple design for essentially gastight closing of a flow path (F) between two ports (3, 5) arranged at an angle. A valve part which is arranged in a valve housing (2) so as to be displaceable along an axis (10) and whose closing surface (13) can be brought into contact with a valve seat (7) of the first port (3) for closing the flow path (F) and can be brought out of contact for opening the flow path (F) is in the form of a cylindrical piston (9) having an end face forming the closing surface (13) and a piston outer surface (16). The valve housing (2) has a cylindrical passage (17) which extends opposite the valve seat (7) along the axis (10) and through which the piston (9) is passed and can be displaced and inside which a sealing or guide element (15, 18; 19) is arranged. The piston (9) and the passage (17) are dimensioned so that the piston outer surface (16) is closely enclosed along the adjustment distance (a) by the sealing or guide element (15, 18; 19) of the passage (17). It is thus possible for essentially only a single adjustable component of the valve, namely the easily cleanable piston (9) consisting in particular of a single material, to be guided in the flow space (R) so that the maintenance of the valve (1) is substantially simplified and few different materials bound the flow space (R). In a further development, the drive mechanism (14) of the piston (9) is formed at least partly by an outer piston space (A) between a piston step (21) and the passage (17), so that the piston (9) forms a component of the drive mechanism (14), permitting a compact design of the valve (1).

Important Notes on Latency of Status data
Please note there is up to 60 days of latency in this Status indicator for certain status conditions. You can obtain up-to-date Status indicator readings by ordering PAIR for the file.
An application with the status "Published" (which means it is pending) may be recently abandoned, but not yet updated to reflect its abandoned status. However, an application filed less than one year ago is unlikely to be abandoned.
A patent with the status "Granted" may be recently expired, but not yet updated to reflect its expired status. However, it is highly unlikely a patent less than 3.5 years old would be expired.
An application with the status "Abandoned" is almost always current, but there is a small chance it was recently revived and the status not yet updated.
