Abstract
The invention provides a swivel mechanism (10) for inclusion between the carriage (14and chair 12) of a stairlift. The mechanism preferably includes two pivot axes, each offset from the center line of the chair so as to reduce the rearward intrusion when the chair is swivelled. The swivel action is preferably effected by the interaction of control members (40a, 40b) sliding in inter-related arcuate guides (38a, 38b).
