Compounds are described, having general formula (I): ACu wherein A represents the bibasic ion of an organic acid which can have the meanings (A.sub.1)-(A.sub.8) and Cu represents the copper 2+ ion; and the use of compounds having formula (I), individually or in a mixture, for the control of bacterial and fungal phytopathogens on vegetables or parts thereof.
