Abstract
The invention is an electroformed coating of nickel formed on yttria-stabilized tetragonal polycrystalline ceramic where a hydrofluoric acid etch is utilized with the component during processing to result in an adherent, dense nickel-rich coating. Control of the sensitizing, catalyzing, and reaction enhancement processes to about 90.degree. C. provides improved nickel deposition properties.
