Abstract
A method of killing a cell that is lacking in effective p53 protein activity, particularly as compared to wild type, is provided characterized in that it comprises delivering to the cell a single stranded DNA including a portion with at least one base, internally located with respect to any 3' and 5' ends of the DNA, that is un-base paired with another base in a form that is capable of being internalized by the cell.
