Abstract
A dental composition comprises a fluorescent whitening agent. The fluorescent whitening agent is most preferably 4,4'-bis(2-sulfostryryl)bi-pheny) or a salt or other soluble derivative thereof, eg the disordium salt. The composition may also comprise an additional tooth whitening agent. Methods of whitening the teeth are also described.
