A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of a solid malignancy chosen from the group consisting of colon tumour, gastric tumour, mammary tumour, ovarian tumour, prostate tumour, and renal tumour, said composition comprising a salt of meta-arsenite (AsO.sub.2.sup.-) and a pharmaceutically acceptable auxiliary.
