Abstract
The present invention concerns the manufacture of ESP glass rupture disks with failure resistance higher than 320 MPa able to shatter into microscopic pieces following the stable growth of the superficial flaws. It also concerns the manufacture of ESP glass rupture disk having low variability of rupture pressure (p.sub.max) values, i.e. having pre-determined fixed p.sub.max value. The present invention is also directed to provide design criteria for the manufacture of ESP glass rupture disks having a pre-determined fixed failure resistance and pre-defined rupture pressure p.sub.max.
