Abstract
The machine has a rotor with a ferromagnetic pole core, which is fitted with a winding arrangement composed of high-T.sub.c superconductor material and surrounds a central internal area, via which the cooling power must be provided in order to cool the winding arrangement. In order to thermally couple the winding arrangement to the internal area, the pole core is composed of a material which contains at least 70% by weight of nickel, and preferably pure nickel.
