Abstract
A method for forming a disk of a disk drive having a magnetic head for reading data from or writing data to the disk is introduced. The disk is formed of a disk substrate. Additionally, a laser process using a pulse laser with a pulse width of 20.about.90 ns and an energy of 0.5.about.6.0 .mu.j is performed to form a plurality of rimless depressions in an inner diameter zone having a radius between 0.65' and 0.78' of the disk substrate, so that a landing zone is formed for landing the slider.
