Abstract
A system and method for sequencing messages in a collaborative environment is provided. Sequence numbers are maintained for each message sent by each participant in a project. A table containing the sequence number of the current message and the sequence numbers maintained for each participant is sent along with each message. The sequence number stored by the recipient and the sequence number sent along with the current message are compared to determine if the messages are in the correct order.
