A method for flexibilizing a glass fiber nonwoven bound with a cured urea formaldehyde resin binder by admixing water, a cured urea formaldehyde resin, and a water-soluble polymer comprising a polymerized ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, the polymer having a weight average molecular weight of from about 65,000 to about 95,000; applying the aqueous admixture to a glass fiber nonwoven; and heating the admixture to at least about 120.degree. C. Also disclosed are glass fiber nonwovens made using the method.
