A digital camera has a photosensitive detector assembly comprising at least two semiconductor, photosensitive detector arrays. An optical guide assembly guides light rays defining an image of an object onto the detector arrays such that different areas of the image are detected by respective arrays and such that the areas are abutting or overlapping.
