Azolylalkyloxazole and -oxadiazole derivatives of the formula (I) 1 in which the symbols and indices are as defined in the description are highly suitable for controlling animal pests such as insects, arachnids, nematodes, helminths and molluscs and for controlling endo- and ectoparasites in the field of veterinary medicine while being well tolerated by plants and having a favorable toxicity to warm-blooded species.
