Abstract
The present invention provides a process for surface modification treatment of a polymer, and products produced therefrom, in which a polymer is subjected to a surface modification treatment using a sulfuryl chloride (SO.sub.2Cl.sub.2)-based solution, followed by employing a reaction terminating agent capable of decomposing or neutralizing sulfuryl chloride to terminate the surface modification treatment. A thus-obtained polymeric fiber or fabric exhibits excellent properties, such as moisture diffusion and wicking properties, anti-pilling property, dyestuff dyeability and the like.
