A vehicle integrated hitch and bumper support assembly (10) and a method for making the support assembly from tube stock includes an elongated tube (12) having an intermediate portion (14) and end portions (16) that are cut so that the elongated tubes can be cut from tube stock whose length is less than the combined length of the elongated tubes.
