Abstract
An electrolysis system with a buffer tank An electrolysis system for production of hydrogen and/or oxygen comprising a stack of electrolysis cells inside a pressure vessel (18). Each electrolysis cell in the stack comprises a membrane (82A, 82B) and a cassette (12) made of a bipolar plate (74) sand-wiched by a cathode (30B) and an anode (78) forming a cathode compartment and an anode compartment on each side of the bipolar plate (74). The stack is enclosed in a container constituting a buffer container for storing hydrogen released in the stack. The stack has an outlet constituting a hydrogen outlet for flow of hydrogen gas into said buffer container for filling the buffer container with hydrogen gas.
