Disclosed is a method of regenerating a skin wound using a perforated dermal regeneration matrix combined with autograft in a single-stage procedure. The size of the perforations and the spacing between perforations in the dermal matrix are selected to facilitate drainage, encourage vessel growth and minimize scar tissue formation.
